Ig is Mambo's creative director and freelance artist. He was introduced by a mutual photographer friend, Photog Neil, who had recently returned from Mexico, who was undertaking a Ayahuasca course and once he'd come down he immediately made contact and insisted we should meet Ig.

So we dropped everything and journeyed into the depths of Devon and spent a week listening to Ig and his visions, his philosophies, his band, his stories of 20 foot waves in 6 degrees water temperature surfing secret slabs. We were told by the local pub landlord that his grandfather had educated him in the school of Renaissance men - Leonardo Da Vinci and Nicolaus Copernicus - being his role models. Ig scorns phones so our communication is by public phone booths he happens upon while shooting rabbits for his dinner. He does however own an early model Apple computer Steve Jobs had given him. Following a session when Jobs had inadvertently dropped in on Ig and as recompense for the ding he inflicted on Ig's bamboo board he had just shaped, he delivered a machine to the young prodigy. While Steve is gone, Ig has adapted the machine and upgraded it to allow it to run El Capitan 10.11.6. He continues a fine tradition of Creative Directors at Mambo who surf, play in a band, and paint amongst everything else including plumbing.
